Is it really a sometimes unwanted yet desired feeling humans have no control over?
At the end of the day, ask yourself,
can you actually control the feeling of being in love?
having asked that,
can we actually define what is love now?
Is it getting together with the opposite gender based on reckless decisions and blinded perspective?
or
Is it changing to another one after leaving the previous due to faults and flaws we have discovered in the process of relationships or even moving on to another just because we are so sick of the person's face and his/her constant mistakes?
or
Is it thinking that love is the answer and panacea for all troubles and thus turning to a relationship hoping that our deepest desires could be satisfied?
what exactly is love?
I can continue listing societal current definition of love, but i guess we all know, the different unauthentic excuses we give just to be in "love".
Excuses, never reasons.
Seems to me,
our society has knowingly distorted the meaning of love, redefining it, lowering the actual standards. Its not innocence or naivety.
And because of this serious change,
i believe now love is overrated.
But for some, you can come up to me and say, Ben, our relationship is true love, not the standards of society. You can even tell me about your own personal convictions and that your relationship is the epitome of love. You can have valid reasons that are not excuses that even God would understand.
Well, good for you. I'm glad to know that. But prove to me then, marry the person and stay all blissful throughout the marriage. Arguments, fights and disagreements are inevitable, but that's okay. My point simply is, no divorce and till death do you'll part.
cliche as its going to sound,
actions speak louder than words, hunney.
And for those who can say i'm getting into a relationship to gain experience, i honestly think, with no offence, its such a sad excuse. I have five words for you - Once used, price greatly reduced. I'm sure you do not want to be of a negative value to the person you are marrying after the various experiences you had.
Period.
Can we actually control the feeling of love?
I believe we can't, but we can control the actions that follow.
