Back!

Good news for some, bad news for one.

Considering how the Lord has been so good to me, here's what you miss on Ben. (sings it like how they always do in Glee - "here's what you miss on Glee")

I'm offcially out of tekong even though my batch that i enlisited in with is still going through thick and thin, hell after hells. Feels tragic to be leaving them in the mire, to pack your bags while you see them in their Full Battle Order, preparing as if war was happening in the next few days.
Sucks to be in the air-conditioning luxury, while just few metres away from the door, on the burning cement of the concrete parade square, my comrades are getting punished for something they didn't do.

So yes, tonight i'm going to book in, bid my last farewell, exchange numbers, formally receive my posting out order and do some interview, and i'll probably take the last ferry out of tekong. Last, in more ways than one.

Just yesterday i received a call from my company clerk who is queerly a hardcore fan of japanese culture and anime so much so that i believe if i ever see him on the sane streets of singapore, he would be having a purple mohawk, coupled with eyeliner and thick makeup, vested in black leather jackets and carrying a sword. Maybe the sword part is a little exaggerated but hey, self defence, especially now that slashers are on the rise.

Back to army, I have been graciously posted to HQ Commandos, which by far is one of the most relax and slackful company in Singapore as quoted by both army boys from there, joel and yingchuang. They have great food around considering it is strategically located at Changi/Loyang which is a 10 mins drive from my house. Yes, i said drive.

Which brings me to my next point. My vocation is simply a driver. So now, please imagine with me for awhile, this chinese botak skinny boy driving a 5 tonner.

Yup, that will be my new ride for the next 2 years. Now if anybody needs a lift, feel free to call me. I can fit the entire Somali kids in there. Oh, just one thing, the speed limit is 70km/h and given my background in driving, that seem like a close to impossible thing. Even at my carpark below, i'm racing from one end to the other. No, i'm kidding. But seriously though, 70 below or i can spend the rest of my army days behind a 6 by 9 feet room. Maybe i might just fit my camry at the back just in case my accelerator feet gets itchy.
And with that, I only got God to thank. He hath promised me good, and his faithfulness that never fails along with graciousness and favour have brought me out of BMT to a new chapter that is about to unfold in this miserable two years i am bonded with the nation. I'm looking forward, trusting and acknowledging him in everything i do and for sure, he will be guiding my every step.
His ways are higher,
His thoughts are higher.
Submit and surrender. Not just the easy things, but the hardest ones to let go.
